International Day of Peace 2024
Celebrating the International Day of Peace
On September 21, 2024, the Sri Swami Madhavanand World Peace Council, in collaboration with the Vishwaguru Deep Ashram Research Centre—a part of the Yoga in Daily Life Foundation—hosted a special program to commemorate the International Day of Peace at Vishwaguru Deep Ashram in Jaipur. This event was organized with the intention of promoting peace, unity, and global cooperation, core values that align with the vision of the International Day of Peace, as declared by the United Nations.
The Sri Swami Madhavanand World Peace Council, an NGO registered in Austria and recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has been a steadfast advocate for global peace and harmony. The Vishwaguru Deep Ashram Research Centre, an integral part of the Yoga in Daily Life Foundation, plays a pivotal role in spreading the teachings of yoga and promoting research into spiritual practices that foster peace and well-being.
The event commenced with the traditional planting of the Peace Tree in the park adjacent to Vishwaguru Deep Ashram. This symbolic act signifies the growth and spread of peace throughout the world. The tree, a living emblem of our commitment to non-violence and harmony, will serve as a constant reminder of the enduring importance of these values.
The International Day of Peace is more than just a celebration; it is a call to action. It reminds us all of the urgent need for global cooperation and mutual understanding to ensure a peaceful future for all. The day’s program was enriched by the presence of several esteemed speakers and distinguished guests.
